Hidden Springs - Celebrities and the rich have flocked here to relax and escape from the mundane, but the twins know this remote mountain enclave as home. There are two distinct areas in town -- the downtown area around the lake and Subalpine Blvd., the main highway in and out of town, where the wealthy sims live, and the wooded area, where mysterious green-tinged sims dwell.
Vanderburg Palace - Located at 1 Lake View Way in Hidden Springs, it is the opulent historical residence of the Vanderburg royal family. Full of 18th and 19th century décor, with 20th and 21st century additions and conveniences, it has adapted to the changing tastes of its residents. Also the official birthplace of the Vanderburg twins.
Catarina and
Renauld Vanderburg - the twins' parents and the royal couple of Hidden Springs. The couple married just before they conceived the twins. Catarina married Renauld and conceived the twins despite having two adult children from a previous relationship.
Francisca, Catarina's older daughter. She ran away from the palace to live the life of a 'normal' young woman and to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. It was her disappearance that led to Catarina conceiving the twins.
Sebastian, Catarina's older son and Francisca's brother. It fell to him to uphold the 'good name' of the family, but he was more interested in finding his sister and living the wealthy princely lifestyle than he was in marriage and starting a family.
Sims University, the elite university where the twins attend college. When it opened the girls applied to be members of its first incoming class. Alexandra signed up for its school of technology, or SIT (Sims Institute of Technology) while Anastasia enrolled in its architecture and design school.
Ella, right, formerly Ella Carlisle, Sebastian's wife and mother of his two children. She is also the sister-in-law of the twins. She is an unexpected ally to the girls and often serves as a surrogate "big sister" to them.
AJ, right, full name Andrew J. Cheesman, Jr., eldest son of wealthy heiress, author, and adventurer Savannah Plumb Cheesman. His family moved to Hidden Springs from Sunset Valley when he and his adopted brother, Imsety, were sentenced to a stint at Fort Starch Military Academy. He wandered into the palace where he met Princess Alexandra. She developed a crush on him, but he was clueless to her advances. Even so, their relationship eased into a friendship.
